Magic Chef Washer Error Codes — Complete List
Magic Chef's compact and portable top-load washers report problems as numbered alarms — E1 the water-hose alarm for filling, E3 the imbalance alarm, E4 the drain alarm. The verified guides below explain each one and the safe checks that clear it, written for these small faucet-fed machines.
- E1 Your Magic Chef washer can't fill in time — E1 is the 'water hose' alarm, usually a tap not fully open, a kinked inlet hose, or low water pressure.
- E3 Your Magic Chef washer can't balance the load to spin — E3 is the imbalance alarm, cleared by redistributing the wet laundry and levelling the machine.
- E4 Your Magic Chef washer couldn't drain in time — E4 is the drain alarm, raised when the tub doesn't empty within about four minutes, usually a kinked or badly placed drain hose.
Don't see your code?
Magic Chef builds several portable washer models, and an E2 code shows on some as a lid alarm and on others as a drain warning — because that meaning isn't consistent, we've left it off rather than guess. For any code not listed here, your model's use-and-care guide is the authority.
