Panasonic Microwave Error Codes — Complete List
Two-letter codes where the first letter tells you who can fix it: H = system/hardware fault, U = user error (usually your call, not a technician's). The one reset worth trying for free: unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, try again. If an H code returns, it's an inverter/magnetron/high-voltage problem — those parts sit next to a capacitor that holds charge after unplugging, so leave the cabinet to a service technician.
- H97 H97 points at the magnetron and high-voltage circuit — the oven tried to start cooking and detected a fault in the inverter input.
- H98 H98 means the magnetron isn't producing microwave output — the oven detected 'no oscillation' after you pressed Start.
- U14 U14 is a user-level code that means the water tank is empty or not seated properly on a combi steam model — often a no-cost fix.
Don't see your code?
If your display shows a code that isn't listed here, check your model's manual — the model number is on the door frame or back panel, and codes can vary by generation.
