Z Grills Pellet Grill Error Codes — Complete List
The Z Grills 1000D4E spells its faults out on screen as an ERROR number with a label: TEMP SENSOR, HIGH TEMP, LOW TEMP, NO FIRE. Z Grills publishes the full table in its help centre along with one reset sequence that clears any of them, and these guides follow it.
- ER1 (Error 1) ER1 on a Z Grills 1000D4E is the temperature sensor alarm — the RTD probe's circuit has failed or has a poor connection.
- ER2 (Error 2) ER2 on a Z Grills 1000D4E is the high temperature alarm: the grill has gone above its preset limit.
- ER3 (Error 3) ER3 on a Z Grills 1000D4E is the low temperature alarm: the grill sat below its set point for too long, which usually means the fire went out.
- ER4 (Error 4) ER4 on a Z Grills 1000D4E is an ignition failure: the controller tried five times and never detected a flame.

The same help article also lists ERROR 5 (auger), 6 (fan) and 7 (ignitor). Those are connection or part faults for the Z Grills Support Team; other Z Grills controllers have their own code lists.
