Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Error Codes — Complete List
Most Instant Pot warnings are about how the pot was set up rather than a broken part. The two covered here come straight from Instant Pot's own FAQ: the Burn (BRN) message, which is nearly always about liquid, and the C6 family, which the FAQ links to something spilled onto the cooker base.
- C6 (C6L, C6H) C6, C6L or C6H on an Instant Pot can appear after liquid has been spilled onto the cooker base, and the right response depends on whether it was water or oil.
- Burn (BRN) The Instant Pot Burn message (which Instant Pot calls the food BRN error) means the pot is overheating at the bottom, usually because there is too little thin liquid.
