Whynter Wine Cooler Error Codes — Complete List
Whynter's BWR-series wine coolers report with an E-prefix family — E0 for board communication, E1/E2 for the temperature sensor, E3/E4 for the defrost sensor, E5 for the defrost heater, E7 for the door switch. The first step is always the 30-second breaker reset and confirming the door is fully latched; anything that survives that is a service item, and Whynter's own documentation directs service for most of them.
- E0 E0 is Whynter's communication-fault code — the control board isn't talking to the display or sensors properly.
- E1 (E2) E1/E2 flags a failed temperature sensor inside the cabinet — the control can't judge cooling demand.
- E5 E5 points to the defrost heater — the component that melts ice off the coils so airflow can recover.
- E7 E7 means the door-switch (magnetic or mechanical) isn't reporting a closed state reliably.
- E3 (E4) E3 or E4 on a Whynter wine cooler means the defrost sensor in the evaporator has failed — the manual's only remedy is to call for service.
