Kenmore Error Codes
Pick the code your Kenmore appliance is showing. Each page explains what the code means, the most likely causes ranked by probability, and which fixes are safe to try before calling a technician.
Kenmore Washer Codes
- PF PF means the washer lost power in the middle of a cycle — restart it and you're usually done.
- OE OE means the washer isn't draining fast enough — the front drain pump filter is the usual hero of this story.
- UE UE means the washer couldn't balance the load well enough to spin — untangle it and try again.
- IE IE means the washer didn't fill with water quickly enough — faucets, hoses, and screens are the first places to look.
- LE LE means the motor couldn't spin the drum — sometimes an overload, sometimes a sensor or motor problem.
- PE PE means the washer's water level sensor isn't giving trustworthy readings — the machine can't manage fills properly.
- tE tE means the washer's temperature sensor can't read water temperature — the machine can't control heating or wash temps.
- dE dE means the washer thinks the door isn't closed or locked — a sock in the seal often explains it.
Kenmore Dryer Codes
- d90 d90 means the dryer's duct is 90% blocked — airflow is barely getting out, so drying slows and heat builds up.
- d95 d95 means nearly all airflow from the dryer is blocked — the most severe Flow Sense vent warning before shutdown.

- CL E CL E is the serious one: on LG-built Kenmore 795/796 refrigerators it signals a low-side sealed-system refrigerant leak, which is a licensed-tech-only repair.
- PO PO on Whirlpool-built Kenmore 106/596 refrigerators is simply the power-outage flag - the board noticed the power dropped and is telling you about it.
