KitchenAid Refrigerator Error Codes — Complete List
KitchenAid refrigerators report PO after a power outage that warmed the freezer, a door alarm when a door or drawer stands open, a temperature alarm when a compartment has run warm, and COOLING OFF when cooling has been switched off at the control.
- PO (PO Error Code) PO appears after a power outage — the freezer warmed to about 18°F (-8°C) or higher, and the fridge is asking you to confirm the food is safe.
- Door Ajar (Door Alarm, Door Ajar Alarm) The door alarm chimes when a door or drawer has been open too long — close them fully and it resets itself.
- Temperature Alarm (Temp Alarm) The temperature alarm sounds if the fridge or freezer ran too warm for a stretch — usually because a door was left open or a big warm load was added.
- Cooling Off (COOLING OFF) COOLING OFF means the refrigerator's cooling system is switched off — it is a setting, not a breakdown.
