KitchenAid Error Codes
Pick the code your KitchenAid appliance is showing. Each page explains what the code means, the most likely causes ranked by probability, and which fixes are safe to try before calling a technician.
KitchenAid Dishwasher Codes
- F8E4 F8E4 is the dishwasher's leak-system error — the flood float in the base found water, and the machine stopped to protect your kitchen.
- F9E1 F9E1 means the dishwasher took too long to drain — most often a clogged filter, a kinked drain hose, or a disposer knockout plug left in place.
- F8E2 F8E2 is an electrical error in the fill valve circuit — the control is not seeing the inlet valve behave correctly.
KitchenAid Range Codes
- F9 E0 F9 E0 points to an electrical wiring problem — most often a miswired power connection, usually caught in the first months after installation.
- PF PF is a friendly reminder that power was interrupted — press Cancel to clear it and reset the clock if needed.
- LOC LOC means the range's control lock is active — the oven controls are disabled until you unlock them.
- SAB SAB means Sabbath mode is active — a convenience setting that keeps the oven usable during religious observance.
KitchenAid Refrigerator Codes
- PO PO appears after a power outage — the freezer warmed to about 18°F (-8°C) or higher, and the fridge is asking you to confirm the food is safe.
- Door Ajar The door alarm chimes when a door or drawer has been open too long — close them fully and it resets itself.
- Temperature Alarm The temperature alarm sounds if the fridge or freezer ran too warm for a stretch — usually because a door was left open or a big warm load was added.
- Cooling Off COOLING OFF means the refrigerator's cooling system is switched off — it is a setting, not a breakdown.
