Roborock Robot Vacuum Error 3 — What It Means & How to Fix It

By Callum Griffin · Researched and verified against manufacturer and repair documentation · Reviewed September 2026

Roborock Error 3 means the wheels are suspended: the robot has been lifted or is hung up on something so its wheels are off the floor.

What this code means

The Q5 manual says "Wheels suspended. Move robot and restart." The drive wheels are sprung and drop when there is no floor beneath them. The robot treats that as being stranded and stops.

Taken from the Errors table in Roborock's Q5 user manual. Roborock reuses these low numbers across many models, but the lists are not identical — higher numbers in particular differ — so check the manual for your robot.

Most likely causes

What you can try yourself

  1. Lift the robot off whatever it is stuck on.
  2. Place it on flat, open floor.
  3. Restart cleaning.
  4. If one spot keeps catching it, block that spot off with a No-Go Zone in the app.

When to call a technician

Frequently asked questions

Why does my Roborock say wheels suspended?

At least one drive wheel has dropped away from the floor, which happens when the robot is lifted or beached on an obstacle.

How do I stop my Roborock getting stuck in the same place?

Set a No-Go Zone or Invisible Wall over that area in the Roborock app so the robot stays out of it.
