Roborock Robot Vacuum Error 5 — What It Means & How to Fix It

By Callum Griffin · Researched and verified against manufacturer and repair documentation · Reviewed September 2026

Roborock Error 5 means the main brush is jammed and needs to be taken out and cleaned.

What this code means

The Q5 manual gives "Main brush jammed. Clean main brush and bearings." Hair and string wind around the roller and collect at the bearing end until the brush motor stalls. A jammed side brush is reported separately, as Error 6.

Taken from the Errors table in Roborock's Q5 user manual. Roborock reuses these low numbers across many models, but the lists are not identical — higher numbers in particular differ — so check the manual for your robot.
