Traeger Error Codes
Pick the code your Traeger appliance is showing. Each page explains what the code means, the most likely causes ranked by probability, and which fixes are safe to try before calling a technician.
Traeger Pellet Grill Codes
- LEr LEr (Low Error Reading) means a non-WiFIRE Traeger dropped below 125°F for more than 10 minutes, so the fire is out and the grill has shut itself down.
- HEr HEr (High Error Reading) means a non-WiFIRE Traeger climbed past 550°F — most often a grease flare-up — and switched itself off as a safety precaution.
- Er1 Er1 (or Err) on a non-WiFi Traeger means the RTD temperature probe has a poor connection to the controller or has come disconnected altogether.
- Er2 Er2 on a non-WiFi Traeger means the RTD temperature probe itself has failed and needs replacing.
- Er4 Er4 on a non-WiFi Traeger means the controller has lost its connection to the induction fan that feeds air to the fire.
- Er5 Er5 (or Er3) on a non-WiFi Traeger means the grill's ignitor — the hot rod that lights the pellets — is disconnected.
- Er7 Er7 on a Traeger without WiFi means the auger has jammed, and the controller has a built-in routine that tries to free it.
